TITLE: Field Service Engineer/Programmer

COMP: From $80,000-$95,000

LOCATION: Champaign, IL

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Field Service Engineer direct hire position in Champaign, IL.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot and provide solutions at both the programming and onsite levels for customer installations and commissioning.
• Travel primarily within driving distance (about 3 hours from home) during the week; limited overnight travel a few times per year. Candidates will work remotely when not traveling to customer sites.
• Program and support Allen Bradley PLC systems, with exposure to Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi as needed.
• Provide hands-on support at customer sites, including occasional mechanical/electrical adjustments during system startup.
• Design and configure SCADA and HMI screens to meet customer and project requirements.
• Utilize CAD or other design software to support technical drawings, project engineering questions, and documentation.
• Travel as needed to customer sites for project startup and support.

Requirements:

• 2–5+ years of experience in a software/controls engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Associate’s degree may be considered with sufficient experience.
• Proficiency with design software
• Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming; familiarity with Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi is a plus.
• Ability to design, program, and develop HMI screens using FactoryTalk or comparable software.
• Experience with project startup and commissioning in an industrial or utilities setting.
• Background in water/wastewater systems strongly preferred.

TERMS: This is a direct hire position that pays from $80,000-$95,000. This candidate will have access to a company car after 90 days of employment.
