Pay Range: $55,000-$65,000 Annually; Hourly wage will vary based on relevant experience and education.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 2 years of safety experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and interpretations.
  • Demonstrates a positive, team-based attitude
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and creative problem solving skills
  • Mindset for attention to detail and ability to work independently

Essential Responsibilities:

The Safety Coordinator will support our Safety and Environmental compliance efforts. This role involves conducting routine on-site facility inspections to ensure compliance with local, regional, state, and federal safety regulations. Additionally, the role will be integral in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies. Each day presents unique challenges as we focus on improving efficiency, reducing downtime, and expanding our operations. The successful candidate will be motivated to learn and takes initiative to help us continuously improve.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate facility safety programs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform routine safety inspections, job hazard analysis, safety walks and compliance audits.
  • Lead internal safety audits in conformance with OSHA and other relevant standards.
  • Lead Accident and Near-Miss Investigations and facilitate the continuous improvement of the safety program.
  • Support divisional goals with routine recordkeeping, monitoring, auditing, and training activities.
  • Develop and facilitate all GFS EHS training programs and coordinate and schedule 3rd part EHS training requirements as needed.
  • Lead toolbox talks, lectures and promote company efforts to foster a culture of enhanced safety.
  • Review and consult on new and changing local/state/federal safety regulations applicable to GFS Chemicals operations.
  • Assist management with the development, continuous improvement, and standardization of safety programs.
  • Conduct and coordinate Divisional Safety Committee activities.
  • Most importantly----help to create a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
