About the role: As a Weld Engineer you will support the implementation, and troubleshooting of welding-related requirements and activities for the fabrication, erection, and maintenance of nuclear power plants and associated facilities.
You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this role 100% on site. No relocations assistance is available for this position.
Key Responsibilities: \n - Review contract, design, and regulatory requirements to develop project welding specifications.
\n - Provide guidance to fabricators for compliance with project welding requirements.
\n - Create/review/implement weld maps, detail drawings, PQRs and WPSs, and Welding Programs to ensure conformance with project requirements.
\n - Support the continued development of the WELD software package and associated PQR and WPS databases.
\n - Provide input to estimates and proposals for welding-related activities.
\n - Provide consultation, technical responses, and support for welding related questions and issues presented by ANI, Code, and Regulatory bodies, clients, and internal customers.
\n - Help develop the Westinghouse ASME Section III corporate certificate programs.
\n - Support manufacturing components as related to welding activities.
\n - Focus on leaning out fabrication processes from a standpoint of cost, quality and safety.
\n - Implement new welding technologies and equipment.

Qualifications: \n - Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Welding Engineering Technology, or related field.
\n - 5+ years of experience as a Welding Engineer or related position
\n - 5+ years of nuclear-specific construction or fabrication experience in the power plant, shipbuilding, industrial process construction, maintenance, component repair & replacement, applied research and development, or manufacturing facility.
\n - Working knowledge of AWS, ASME Codes including ASME Section II, III, V, XI, B31.1, B31.3 and AWS D1.1, D1.3, D1.4, D1.6, D9.1, D10.10. as well as NAVSEA TP 1688, TP 248, TP278
\n - Experience with the qualification of welders and welding procedures, including parameter development.
\n - Familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW welding processes.
\n - Working knowledge of ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and Welding Program best practices.
\n - Lead presentations for internal and external customers
\n - High level of knowledge related to implementation and use of electronic welding management or shop traveler system.
\n - Participation or member of an ASME or AWS committee, sub-committee, or working group #LI-Onsite.
